As the summer weather begins to set in, Land-Grant Brewing Company is ready to battle the impending heat with its Royal Pool Party on Saturday, May 19.
Complete with plenty of water, beer and music, the bash will wrap up Columbus Craft Beer Week 2018 while also celebrating the release of Pool Party Pilsner, Land-Grant’s newest summer brew.
No summer bash is complete without delicious ice cream, and this one is no exception; a Jeni’s Ice Cream truck will serve sweet treats all day. Food from Ray Ray’s Hog Pit on the grill and the Alphabetical Kitchen food truck will accompany, ensuring no one will go home hungry.
Proceeds from the pool party will benefit The Dick and Jane Project, a Columbus nonprofit that hosts workshops to connect students and musicians in the city. In these workshops, students, regardless of academic performance or writing ability, compose lyrics to their own songs and tell the musicians how they want the song to sound. The musicians teach them industry techniques before the songs are professionally recorded.
Of course, there will be no shortage of entertainment. Adam Scoppa will DJ from noon until 4 p.m., followed by musical performances from Parker Louis, The Raquels, Mistar Anderson, mungbean and more until 10 pm. There will also be a dunk tank present to keep everyone cool.
As the weather gets warmer, there is no better way to kick off the summer than with an epic party. Complete with a brand-new summertime Pilsner, talented music and delicious food, all that is left to do is to bring plenty of friends to enjoy the sunshine.
The party runs from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on May 19. It will be held at the Land-Grant Brewing Company at 424 West Town Street. More information, including volunteer sign-ups and the full musical lineup, can be found on the Facebook event page here.
