The new single, “Plastic,” from stellar rockers Mister Moon is an eerily smooth groover.
The synth warbles, suspending the listener in cosmic atmosphere before the bass and drums arrive to put your feet on the ground.
In what could be described as The Temples meets King Krule meets Fleet Foxes, the band pulls together a cohesive body rocker. With “a little of this, [and] a little of that” as Tommy Christian croons on the opening of the track, Mister Moon proves that it is not the notes you play but the space between where the magic happens.
Mister Moon comes back down to earth this Saturday for the 2018 revved up edition of Steadfast Festival held at Strongwater Food & Spirits, where you can hear this tune and other Mister Moon tunes previously reviewed by In The Record Store.
They will be joined by other Columbus natives Playing to Vapors, Mystic Mamba and Personal Public. Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 in advance and can be purchased HERE. Doors open at 2:30 p.m on Saturday.
